Born and raised in Carthage, Mississippi, JP grew up listening to her Native American great-grandmother’s captivating tales about their ancestors’ lives in the deep South. Those stories sparked a lifelong love for writing, leading JP to craft poems, songs, plays, and screenplays from an early age.

Now based in Long Island, New York, JP is the author of two dynamic books that speak to the power of resilience, identity, and heart. Her debut children’s novel, The Misadventures of Zyria: The World’s Smallest Superhero, is an empowering tale for young readers that champions bravery, friendship, and standing up for what’s right. Her newest release, Unexpectedly Yours, dives into the world of young adult romance, spinning a breathtaking story of first love, mistaken identity, and the courage to follow your heart.
